2010 – Midnight Sun Marathon, Tromso, Norway

MMR at Tromso

Mike Roberts – Tromso Finish at 2am

In the Arctic, Mother Nature has the last word.  After raining most
of the day, and then letting up for the start of the race, the local
low pressure decided on pelting 40 degree rain for the entire race.

Mikey finished in relatively good shape as you can see, but his time
was over 5 hrs and nothing to write home about.  His watch ran out of
battery, and the race committee has posted no results as of the
moment, so the final word will come later.

As a Ladera wag noted, there were only three entrants in 70-74, so no
matter what he did, as long as he staggered across the finish line,
he will get some sort of medal.  It’s good that there are a few
rewards for geezers. 🙂

Mary Hamilton tried to rearrange her schedule in middle Europe to be
here, but it didn’t work.  The word to Mary is that it was a great
race but you didn’t need four hours in the cold rain.  One entrant
from Team Ladera met our “show up” standard.

We are exiting today for London, where it is sunny and in the 70’s.
